Suggestions / Ship Prefix Renaming

A pretty simple suggestion, but for RP purposes I like to rename ships I buy to have a certain prefix depending on my current status, so ISS if I'm independent, PLS if under commission with the League etc. rather than leave them with the faction prefix of wherever I bought them, ending up with multiple different prefixes in my fleet. Although at the moment to do this you have to delete the entire name of the ship, which can be annoying, especially if you're not great at coming up with ship names and forget the original one.

So what I'm proposing is have two fields for the ship name, a small one for the prefix, say 4 characters max, followed by the ship's name itself. It wouldn't make much of a difference but I think it'd be a small quality of life boost for anyone who likes to role play with their ship names in their fleet.

Sadly DW seems to not get put forward for sales very often, and even then it's only for 24h at a time for whatever reason. Last one was in June and there are still people bummed that they missed the tiny tiny window.

I bought it from G2A.com I think because it wasn't on sale, managed to get it a bit cheaper than steam.

The three frigate rule is for being able to smuggle in/out of inhospitable/hostile markets. It'll be gone in 0.7 with the sensor/transponder mechanic.

Ah I must have mixed the two mechanics together in my head somehow.

I'm pretty sure having just one or two frigates means you'll never get scanned, and anything more than three frigates or a destroyer allows for the possibility of scans.

A better reputation will lead to lower scans, at friendly you'll rarely see them and at cooperative they're almost non-existent in my experience.

As is, a few ships have painted varients, and each one takes up an entire codex entry.

The codex listing could only show the base ship hull, and then within that have tabs or something to choose between the variations. This could also be a way to combine the hull and variant codices together, picking variants after picking a hull.

I believe not every ship should be useful for a player. Even is totally bad from player's point of view, this ship could add immersion by adding NPC civilian cruise fleets, "liner with an escort" type fleets, evacuation fleets, or something else.

I agree, I've always felt like Starsector needed a few more civilian vessels. To me it seems odd that civilians would only use a handful of ship variants.

The best way I found to find the planet is to store everything but a single fast ship and tail the fleets home. Just make sure you're quick enough to outrun them if you get too close.

The flux increasing has always made sense to me as a full bar results in an overload. Changing it to energy that decreases would mean overloads would have to be changed too.

Alex doesn't want the game's audience to grow too big until he feels the game is finished enough. The game's cycle of updates is slow but it's been like that for a long time.

I'm glad the game's community has remained relativity small. I'd use DayZ as an example of a game's community growing too large before the game was ready for it.

I've only played a couple of hours so far, but I'm really liking the difficulty. I like the variation of going from a successful trade run to barely able to stay flying due to some disaster. It feels rather Firefly like in my opinion, which is never a bad thing.

The campaign help box that comes up when you have ships that are undermanned still stays you can assign the ship logistical priority on the fleet screen.

When running Vacuum I can't see the ships in other fleets, just the burn of their engines. Also they don't appear when I mouse over the fleet. Is this meant to happen and if not how do I fix it?

Just a small thing but if you change you portrait then it becomes impossible to click on the name box, at least in windowed mode any way, I haven't tried full screen.
