Yea you have a point.   I dont mind playing the older games with older graphics.  I look at the new xcom and just think.  These graphics with the old programming would equal " GAME OF GREATNESS "
But thats what starfarer is for.   ;D

Yea I get that.  My son downloaded the demo on his ps3.  Wasnt really impressed.  Rather contunue to play UFO:AI

Free game.  Can get into the file system easy and change stuff.  Still in alpha but you cant beat free sometimes.
It "kinda" reminds me of the original.  Still have that installed on my pc but the graphics.   :P  Just cant do it. 
This keeps me occupied until Alex releases the next update.  ( Which looks to be huge )

Yea I can update and dual boot but I dont have time for all that.  ( father in the real world )

Yeah exactly, but by that time we are gonna be dead anyways, as the sun will expand and kill of the earth. I think a asteroid would be the most likely way of the earth to get wrecked, as you only need about a 5km asteroid to wipe out all life on earth.
Good thing the odds of an asteroid striking the Earth are....
Astronomical  8)....

When did code simplification become the issue? oO

This is not about simplification or balancing but about choice, the choice to have ships with different carrier-capabilities. It's really not very complex, in its easiest execution just a simple numerical modificator.

Fleet Control. It is the most amazing mod. Includes mining, sending out trading and raiding fleets, producing supplies, fuel, personal and energy to power it all. I think the mod author is called Verrius?


Thanks Ill look it up.  I cant get my son off of the game so its been a few weeks since I have been on it.  Thank you again.

Well we aren't at final balancing either.

I guess the whole crux of this thread is that current balance is off and how to address it.

I agree that the balance is wonky, but I don't agree that adding in new mechanics is the best way to fix it. Though I don't think the ideas here are inherently bad or anything.


I agree... Keeping it simple is probably the best way to address it.  You dont simplify programming code by adding more code...   :-\

Haha, if this gets to be a Whishlist I want Character Developement. We already have an amazing mod for Outposts.


I agree character Development is HUGE!!!  But... um... Which mod is for the outpost??? I missed that one...
