Nope, nothing new here to see, but I got a mail a while back, on how i sprite(tbh must have been months ago, sry about that), finally found some time to put it together. Actually took a while to find all the bits and pieces.

Back when Zaph was still around and we needed some freighters, tankers for my factions i quickly put up couple sprites. Was not very happy how they turned out - mostly because in comparison to the T.T. support ships i made, that had huuge succes :P , they felt bad.

Oh noes.

First they rename the game, now they will change the forum to some dark, black, shady... as if I accidently stumbled upon a different kind of site  :P

Less serious note - looks cool(er), but looking cool doesnt necessarily make it more clear, easier to navigate(for very young people - ask your parents, they will explain, what the  problém is :D).

Considering two problems - how complex the game has become to mod and that I dont actually have time to play it to get into its new featurs(lost a bit of interest over time too i supose), I decided to stop working on this mod. There aren't many updated wip of the mod out there, but the bits and pieces that are - I do hope you guys will respect that those are my sprites and wont use them without my permission.

Hello you wonderfull person, browsing in this age-old topic. I hope that you are doing well!

Ive had many people ask me for permission to use my sprites in the last couple years - yes, its been years!

Bad news first - I dont plan on going back to modding, but as far as I know Johnny Cocas used my sprites for his faction-
Fringe Defence Syndicate


And I think its reasonable to leave a working link here aswell, where you will find the latest ver. of the sprites, weapons etc.

You can use them in your own work - just give some credit to MrDavidoff  ;)

In general - everything should be kept simple :)

By that I mean it should always be  clear on what it is your doing and what will it do ingame, or how to use the generated files/code.

But, creating soemhting like this seems like a difficult task, just considering that peepz, that would use it wouldnt know much about these,
say someone has a favourite faction, makes its own, but wants his faction to be spawning in the other mods systém - how would you tell the guy, where he needs to look for the specific systém entry is beyond me  :D depends on whether you wanned to "just" generate codes and tell modders where to put it, or generate specific files - or if you could somehow work with existing ones.

(To a newbie this is always gonna be a pain  :D)

As for what else is required - theGen files, spawnpoints, convoy spawns are all the basics you need, arent they ?  :)

I think I forgot all about star systém creation, but mainly about the faction spawns, fleet ratio spawns, convoy spawn points.. plus there was some stuff like giving rewards for defeating certain fleets..

Anyways, just like somebody else ont hese forums, the modding of htis game is becomming too much of a time sink, whichi dont have.

This mod topic should be closed/deleted, I dont plan on updating this mod. The sprite is done, but it would be too much pointles work to seperate this from the main mod.

Sounds reasonable guys- but if I had to do it by myself, I would rather close the shop. Especially for the new update  - things are getting too complex and i dont have the skill, free time to sink into it.

Hey guys,

Ive just realized that its "soon" gonna be almost two yeras since I last promised a ver. of my mod to be released and since then alot of stuff has changed in Starsector. Ive been having Zaphide do all the coding for me in the past, but sadly when he had the time to spare for modding, i didnt have time to finish and deliver my WIP of the mod and then, when I finally had it- Zaphiers MIA :(

So ive been wondering if any of you out there would help me put this thing together.  :)

I have been updating the Cult of lud sprites/added some new ships/ and reworked most of the frigates/destroyers of the Loyalist/Remnant forces. The frigates and destroyers were lacking in comparison to the bigger ships, whihc i payed alot more time, so i gues it was needed. Im also redoing most of the variants and working on systems.

(the sheets on the previous page have been updated)

Though further proces depends on when Zaphide returns to starsector, I have carefully scratched his mail box, so will see.  :D

Hey guys, I would like to hear some of your ideas on the Omega sprite.

I did my best so far. But there are some areas of the ship, that Im not quite happy with

- the Hangars for example : they seem too "clean" at this mmt. Not really sure, what to do with them.
- then I would like to do something to the area behind the bridge superstructure - seems a bit flat aswel.

If you think of any art, that could be used or inspired from to "fix" these issues - gimme pls :)

Alright, lets do this in some order.

My god, he lives....

Barely.

Though I don't think everyone keeps the last versions of their mods for a specific 0.x, so you'll just be playing the mod by yourself.

I have all the older versions of the mod, from 0.1 - though I have dropbox to thank for that(will sort this out with the re-release of  other mod i have).

Is it just me or some cruisers from the Council Loyalists look a little bit like the Republic Cruiser in Star Wars?
EDIT : Oh wait, it is named Venator.......
it basically is star wars, but in starsector, even the turbolaser sounds are the same. =I

No surprise there really, I always said I took inspiration from mr. Lucas and attempted to put it all in Starfarer-Starsector universe.


Anyways, as far as sprite go- I think Im done for now.

For scientific reasons, I'm gonna have to ask if I can see that Behemoth in a more organic fashion, in the campaign where I'm not restricted in any way.  :P

My idea for this ship was it hunting the TT supply convoys, IF it was ever in a campaign, however Im not sure, if mr. Zaphide has made a breakthrought in that direction.

Otherwise it would have been there.. and yeah, one could have it, if he/she dared to catch it.  :P
