I suppose we could create a channel called Starsector on Twitch, and then the owner distributes the stream key. That way all Starsector streams and archived vids are consolidated. Gothars or someone from the forum admins could own it/moderate it. It would help with public exposure of the game and with any hope drive more fans to Starsector to have a consolidated channel rather than it dispersed over multiple channels.

I suppose we'd just have to sort scheduling so people don't end up crossing streams.

Sounds like a logistical nightmare. :P In my opinion, all we need is a thread where all the links are gathered. You can get a hook that sees if a twitch stream is online and displays it as a small picture file next to the URL.

What Cycerin suggests sounds pretty good imo.

I've been thinking about streaming as well to promote BGE but I will wait for such a suggested thread.

Hm it's not really a logistical nightmare. Gothars sets up an account and sends the stream key to interested forum users via PM.

We can schedule in time slots by stating a time and date when they want to stream on the forum, as a gentlemen's agreement we schedule no less than 1 hour in advance, and besides you can always just check if the stream is live before broadcasting.

What kind of streaming software do you guys use?

My machine is pretty high end and I've got a good bandwidth, maybe you could recommend me something to do some good quality streaming, I never did before but I think it could be fun.

I hope to stream a bit in a few hours.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

Maybe i'll do some mods in the future, but first I need to understand the game ;)

UPDATE : Because of a current error i'm not able to change the "now playing title" on twitch to starsector, if you want to watch the stream tonight you'll have to click the link in my previous post that redirects you to my channel!

Check out the videos he made a year and a half ago. T'was beastly. He needs to basically relearn Statsector because the campaign overhaul. And Dark.Revenant explained that the vanilla campaign start is pretty darn hard for a lot of people - hence the new starting options in SS+

Anyways, I'll be sure to notify the forums when the  man is ready for another session of self-ownage. Just hope he listens to what DR had said.

Hi everyone, I don't stream very much, but with all the new people interested in the game I thought I'd fire up the ol' Twitch again :  https://www.twitch.tv/thaago

I'm going to be streaming me playing through the tutorial and the early game, pausing to answer any questions you might have. I should be able to show you step by step instructions on how to do things like refit your ships, take missions, and be effective in combat. I'll also be taking requests on doing certain kinds of missions (within reason :P). I'll also probably try to do something too difficult and die horribly, which should be fun to watch.

I'm planning on going for roughly 2 hours, from 2PM to 4PM PST (starting roughly 15 minutes after this post).

This episode will start with a brief rundown of the ships in my fleet, highlighting the strength and weaknesses of my current builds. I'll then do a quick rebuild of a few ships, optimizing for a new, dangerous path: stealing faction ships!

Thats right, despite my Hegemony benefactors technically being at "peace", we are going to do what I'm sure they want us to: prey on the Persean League! (And steal their ships.)

Last episode we successfully stole a large carrier group from the Persean League (by blowing them up repeatedly). However, a hard, lost fight revealed a critical weakness in our fleet: Not enough direct combat ships, especially tanky ones!

I could buy some... but thats boring. Time to bounty hunt and bring back those cruisers!

As always, I'm an expert at SS so ask me any questions you have.

Hi everyone, I'm streaming again! As always, all questions are welcome: several previous questions have led to my builds clips, so if there is a particular ship you want to see I'll make a build and explain my thoughts on it.

In this episode I'm going to punch the Persean League some more to steal some Battlecruisers and go out into the black to complete the Red Planet mission! I may also need to defend a colony from an expedition, but I doubt it.
