Hey guys,
So what were your favorite games or game series when you were a child or teenager?
My personal favorites were:
Rachel &  Clank
Star Wars: Battlefront
Thrillville

I ended up playing such games as Homeworld and Age of Empire 2 when I was young, which easily became my favorites at the time, though I wasn't exactly very good at them.

When we finally got a PC it was Doom and Dune II.

Before then Metal Gear on the MSX and Mario Bros on the NES.

There was also a pizza place with an arcade hall. I always played Rolling Thunder. I should try and find a Rolling Thunder game and give it a special place in my living room.

I really loved MS paint when I was about three. Grandiose battles between the spray can and the fill function kept be occupied whenever I visited my mother's office. Will the blue wall hold or will green overtake the whole sheet? Oh no, an eraser attacks from the rear! Expand the protective circle!

Now I'm nostalgic...

I was that, but I used Rome Total War to my advantage-will the red Romans defeat the green Gauls?
Oh, and I played star wars battlefront 2 quite a bit. It's sad that Pandemic got shut down before another one could be made :(

It would seem so! I also played a lot of Comanche and I was so happy when Fate of Atlantis was available on steam, since I lost my old copy on floppy disks.  ;D

Though I love civilization now, I never actually had the game back then. I did play the bejeezus out of Sim City 2000 though.

I think Comanche was the first game that I had a joystick for. I remember playing Retaliator before then, but with keyboard. Or perhaps I bought it for X-wing. Can't remember. :P

X-Wing, that was cool yeah, and
Tie Fighter was even cooler, even as a kid i liked the empire more then the rebels ;)

oh yea almoust forgot... a game that you really HAVE to had played at somepoint... and that is dungeon keeper 1 and 2. That game is a awesome... wish they'd make a new one.... but then again bullfrog is dead so dont think there's a chance for it. <.<

And umm, well those 4 are the ones that i spent most of my hours with in between 'child' and 'teenager'

Well not really, instructions were a little odd because you were like 6 years old or so and is more fascinated by the car spinning around then some mission objective, and as you barely speak English, let alone read it, brother of mine explained it for me and i was like "OOoooh... right.. Then why does it not say that?" and hes like " It does, in another language. 8) "

I was like 13 when i played it... i understood english fairly well back then. I tried doing the tutorial but it didnt work. I didnt manage to do enough of the stunts in the required amount of time. xD

Actually my very first game was Warlords 2. I was seven then and my english was not-existent, so I had no idea what I was doing. Still, I enjoyed it immensely.
Other games I remember playing back then are Warcraft, The Incredible Machine, Worms and Stunts. Later came Heroes of Might & Magic 2&3, Settlers 2, Age of Empires, Baldur's Gate.
