Maybe you could do some coding if it possible, so you got a turret or a battery and you just pick one weapon you want to equip and let the game fill up the rest.
One way to solve the refitting if you got enough of the same weapon.

Unfortunately I think you're going to have to decide between blurry and undetailed.
I could sketch some really big ships and give them overlays but detailed desk top sized ships is time consuming work.

Total Annihilation is probably most know for its unique GUI, and man what a sweet GUI it has, all other RTS games could learn so much from it.

Project Titan is a Total Conversion I was thinking about in the last few weeks. After finishing a bunch of Uni exams I decided to start the whole thing. It will mostly feature *huge* ships (very slow and clumsy), a lot of broadside combat, no shields and almost limitless weapon range on all weapons. It's mostly inspired to the Total Annihilation universe and feel.
So i made this video (http://youtu.be/fMuZ9KNkYqM) as a preview of the overall feel of the mod. (the sprite is horribly low-res, but it's just a preview after all).
On a side note, this stuff pushes the engine limits *a lot*. You'll need some powerful PC to play :).

Use of TA map textures is... interesting, as a concept, but I'm not sure it works quite so well 'on paper'.

Yeah, you need devmode zoom to fly a Titan. But that's not the purpose of the mod, you shouldn't be flying them (it's not really doable with the game engine).

Hitting the "¬" key, the one next to the numbers above QWERTY turns off weapon ranges. Strangely, F7-9 on my laptop also toggle the weapon ranges, which is wierd, because by default, they're actually the volume controls for the laptop and you need to press the Fn key before they work like normal F keys.
I have an idea, why not make 'regular' capital ships/cruisers/destroyers into the fightcraft (relatively) of the titans?

I made the Ulquiorra in 30 minutes or so. It's very raw and needs a lot of polishing, but it sets the theme for the Titan. Basically a Flying Low Tech Autofactory.

Anyone can pretty much drop any good kitbash they made here and i'll convert it into a Titan (Titan class will depend with the dimension) and if they provide any non-Titan class ships i can reduce their dimensions to Sub Capital class ships (1\4 of vanilla). I appreciate any style as long as it fits in the general style (no cartoony for example).

Missile slots can be smalls or large aswell (those are small missile slots you have there, see the ulquiorra for the large ones).
EDIT: I said bull**** Ulquiorra doesn't have any large missile, PM me if you need the large missile slot sprite ;)
Could it be too many projectiles? even non tracking ones can start hogging cpu cycles if you have enough guns that need to be aimed.

The situation about weapons right now is this:
1) Very Small, no slot graphics, dps from 5 to 20, very short range. Found on SubTitan ships and Fighters\Drones and sometime on Titans aswell.
2) Small, no slot graphics, dps from 20 to 80, variable range. Found on SubTitan ships and Titans. Titans have up to 120 of this weapons.
3) Medium, small slot graphics, dps around 200, long range. Found on very few big SubTitan ships and Titans. Titans have up to 40 of this.
4) Large, large slot graphics, dps around 600 with strong specialization, uncanny range. Found on Titans.
Haven't developed a system yet, but stretched it, also made a planet blaster for the large slot, not sure what to do with the rest of the slots yet,

Though that brown titan was propelled with imagination (no engine flames), overall mod is running better than I would expect. Especially that mission with badass battle, where dozens (if not hundreds) of fighters where fighting besides and two titans in basically 1v1. Well, almost... fighters were blocking him all the time, so I couldn't properly use main cannon :P But other than that, nice fireworks.
Considering that these things are "Small" titans, should their speeds be increased a little? 20 is really slow (and makes the 0-flux boost kinda strange).
