Friendly? He's not friendly. He's just looking for an excuse to ban someone, I can see it in his eyes. Ahem.

/stops dead in tracks

Hi!

EDIT: some additional information I feel is needed here.
I've heard about Starfarer via GasLamp, and when I saw the images I was completely blown away. Then I saw the videos and I almost choked on the rising hype from my heart. Finally, I read the FAQ where you've mentioned some great game names and it was extremely funny and well-written (as far as faqs go), so I've quickly pre-ordered the game.

So here's to great beginnings and an awesome game!

Cheers,

Hey, good to see you guys have gotten a forum up and running.

Really enjoying the game so far, but it looks like you guys may have some competition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxJTul3AEAE&feature=player_embedded

Oh yeah we are aware of SPAZ. But not in the way of competition. I am actually really excited about SPAZ myself.

The way I see it there cannot ever be too much of what we, and they, are doing  :)

Lol - I sort of beat it...  ;D but then again I still scored only 0%...
I never did get around to going back and trying again once I started trying to make my own mission work.

In other words, something like 25% of the people in this thread are better at Starfarer than me  :-[

Post by: David on May 04, 2011, 03:22:16 PM
Avan, *high five*

(Yeah, I got 0% too because I think the win condition did something weird on me. This was 0.32, before the 0.33 alpha. And a couple nights ago I tried it on 0.33 and got a crash after selecting all my ships to hunt down the last enemy. Probably should have sent my log file to Alex for that one.. )

Hiya. Coming here via QT3 where the scope for this caught my eye, and the pewpewpew was enough to put in a preorder. Looking forward to witnessing development first hand! :)

Well.. yesterday i thought "a forum would be cool..." and today there is one :D
Nice job :)

Some "bad bad bad" Posts on a "Piracy Board" (nfoh..... well thats not a "casual gamer" community so i normaly get more "good game - give it a try" guesses there then within the "casual-ea-activision-community" like this one here ;)) gave me the kick to watch your Site, some were pretty thrilled there.. and you got me within the first minutes :D
(Well..it took a night until this paything got fixed but... this way i could sleep the night instead of playing the impossible Mission.. 0% .. -.- ^^)

Keep up the good Work :)

Hey hey. I'm here from Qt3 and Bay12.

I would be trying to finish the second medium mission, except I have quite a bit of writing I have to have done by tomorrow.

I know that site, I go there for game info all the time. Hey, good information can be found in the "shady" spots on the 'net. I spend most of my forum-time on the Bay 12 forums, then a bunch of SA, nfoh---, Qt3 ... I don't even pay attention to review sites anymore. Other than Rock, Paper, Shotgun and Out of Eight.

That mission is crazy tough.

That looks interesting, but different too. Looking at the Youtube channel, you guys should get Starfarer featured! Totalbiscuit is pretty entertaining.

Howdy one and all... I'm here via QT3 and B12 as I've been following the respective threads on both sites.  I think this game constitutes the least time between first seeing/hearing about a game and plonking down cash for it.  So kudos to you guys.  The plans, images/media/art and general direction you seem to want to go with this make it a game I know I am going to love so helping out with a pre-order is a no brainer.

Also,  I'd like to acknowledge Alex's response to the payment debacle.  You honestly didn't need to do anything in that situation but the fact that you did impressed me.  It's nice to see stand up businessmen in the world at large.

Love the alpha and can't wait to tear into the proposed meta-gamey portion of the game.  Hell, I'd be happy with just the alpha with a few dozen more missions given how polished and fun it is.  Though it really needs some ability to reconfigure controls ;) us lefty's need love too.

Hello everyone!

I think I found this game through TIGSource, and I'm glad I did.  It's really hard though (that or I'm a noob, which is quite possible).  I've only beat the first easy mission...  :D

Hello all!

I am also not very good at this game. But I enjoy it alot. Magicked, try 'Sinking the Bis'Mar', it's meant to be 'Hard' - but it's fun (just remember to put your laser PD on 'auto'), and the ass of the Onslaught is so soft and squishy.

I think that's an excellent idea! Maybe not a proper roadmap, but something that takes about what's going to be in the next release might be in order.

Star Ruler (http://starruler.blind-mind.com/) has this awesome habit of making a "Live Patch Notes" thread every time a new one is being developed, which they are updating constantly based of what has been added to the upcoming patch. (http://forums.blind-mind.com/index.php?topic=3360.0)

It's a terrible tool for creating hype and addiction...just saying...

That sounds criminally irresponsible like fun :) Thank you for the suggestion! I already keep a patch-notes style log of stuff as it's done anyway, so it should be pretty easy to make it a little more presentable.

Carpel Tunnel? Tendonitis?  >.> (though you'd be more prone to getting that doing say, more office-variety work, where you are at your computer clicking away all day long... I suppose certain genres of games may also be predisposed to being just like that as well thoug)

Hi Yall,

I made it past Judgement Day and the possible Zombie Apocalypse!

Glad I did because I've just discovered you're amazing game. Best $10 I've spent in a long while. I was playing a game call Battleships Forever for the PC but development was ceased at least 5 years ago. Starfarer does everything that I could have wished for and much more as a modern replacement to it.  Looking forward to what comes next.

You've been here long enough to know that necro-ing a 1.3-year-old thread purely for the sake of blurting the equivalent of "look at me" is not allowed here. Don't do it again.
