hey there, this is my first mod! it's small and only adds a few things
i tried to stay close to the game's artstyle and to come up with both ships that could realistically be in vanilla and ships that might never be due to lore, just how dumb the idea of them is or limitations in the game, but still similar in artstyle
not technical limitations that is, but purposeful, like phase ships being unable to use converted hangar which makes assuming phase carriers will never be a thing logical
i tried to keep a semblance of balance, but it's mostly heartfelt, as in what i felt seemed balanced

Phase tanker, phase freighter, phase carrier... Finally, a fleet that makes going full phase 0-sensor profile a real possibility. I'm wondering if it's even possible to lose a ship in a pursuit battle...

Anyway, lots of cool ideas here. Looking forward to trying it out. Thank you for posting this.

love the capital frigates. thought i'd mention that the galaxy tigers mod also has a mini onslaught (not that it actually matters), and that arsenal expansion also already has a ship named vanquish

yeah you are right on both things
the tareb thing is funny, it's even called smol in the files like i called onset and its tpc equivalent is less lame
i'll probably change vanquish's name but maybe i'll keep the id the same for the 1 person that downloaded and played this since i think it'd break some save

Suggestion and request:

Suggestion: If you wanna rename the Vanquish, name it "Beat" as in "beating" from conquering a challenge.
Request: Add the rest of the capital family as baby ships, namely: the legion (normal and XIV), the Onslaught XIV and the Astral.

Don't know if you already have but I would reclassify the Monarch as a battlecarrier, it has a lot of firepower for just being a carrier.

I could be mistaken though, If you've already thought about it don't mind my comment.

A few problems I found:
The XIV skins do not have variant files which means no entry in defaultshiproles.json so they will not spawn.
Faction files have empty array entries which causes a series of problems. Comment them out or delete them.

A suggestion on ships/fighters:
While I like the cute and small capital frigates, they're too small to the point that even vanilla weapons overlap each other on some mounts. Maybe making them slightly bigger than a lasher might help.
The minelayer drone is too good for its OP cost. Also making it into a support fighter instead of a bomber might be better AI-wise.
Also the Solemn Beam is broken. It deals 1000 DPS to shields which is enough soft flux to overload most cruisers and below and even enough to make capital ships start venting. This is just with a single beam so you can imagine what happens with 2 or more. I suggest you halve the DPS and lower OP costs to match.

I echo the problems pointed out by Mora. The Solemn beam being OP in particular. As well as the Faction files and XIV skins.

However I have been enjoying these additions in my current playthrough so look forward to seeing what you put out next update.

reworked the Catalyzer's ship system, now the AI has an easier time handling it

can there be hullmods inbuilt on the smaller capital frigates that have bays? like, maybe a max OP limit on stuff like the excursion class for their hangar bay, and/or a replacement rate recovery penalty or smth. so that an excursion and sidreal dont have identical fighter capacity?

They all looks really nice! If there's one thing that bothers me a bit, it's the phase coil on the Ork-class being lower res than the rest of the ship.

great stuff. I'm especially a fan of the intense laser and sandstorm atropos. that aside, seems funny how alex is adding a 'Pegasus' class ship of his own in the upcoming update. do you think you'll need to change the name of your own ship to avoid conflicts or anything of the sort for the next major update?

the chamaleon and the pegasus have been completely discontinued and removed from the mod, as both ships have an equal on vanilla that makes them pointless
my pegasus being just... the pegasus, but lamer and uglier
and the chamaleon performing the same cargo phase niche as the revenant

added 1 new cruiser:
-the Gustav, a "Rail Sniper" with incredible range but extremely frail and slow

minor balance change
-freischütz deploy cost reduced to 8

i agree with the chameleon and pegasus removal, they were kinda without a niche in 0.96

have you considered maybe giving the velites and/or the excursion some hullmods that nerf the hangar slot? like, wing sizes are halved for the velites hangar slot, can only equip fighters with a count of 2 in a wing, and OP cost of all fighters are cut in half aswell, so its more like a half-fighter slot then a full one cause of how small the ship is? and maybe for the excursion same thing but wing size is reduced to a third of its original, so 3 broadswords in a wing -> 1 broadsword per wing, but its only 1/3rd the original OP cost?

Edit: nvm i found out this was impossible after trying to make a hullmod that does it.
