Title: Gamma core found as contraband?
Post by: trademark2 on August 30, 2019, 10:17:32 PM
I have been playing this for over 100 hours and never seen this, but suddenly a cargo scan registered the gamma cores i was carrying as contraband? is it actually based just on chance whether they find it or not?

Based on chance, the amount of stuff in your cargo holds (the more legal stuff you've got aboard, the less of a chance they'll find the illegal stuff scattered within) and your current standing with the faction (the higher it is, the higher the chance they might just "overlook" things).  If it's really low they're liable to hardass you on every last bit of contraband.

You can check what counts as contraband by checking in the factions menu.  Most factions count AI cores as contraband due to lore-related reasons.

I guess the chance is pretty low when you are carrying a bunch of fuel and supplies, because I've only been stopped for contraband once since I've been playing on this patch, and I usually carry 50-100 AI cores (they are useful for lots of things and take very little space, so I don't bother to store them).
