Thats a fantastic video but -uh - is it ok for them to give out their key like that? I know Alex can put it into a blacklist next update, but still.

Like you said, Alex can put it on a blacklist later, I think it is good for exposure, kind of like a free weekend type deal.

I'm going to try it, and if I like it, I'll definitely buy it. We'll see how she runs on openSUSE :) This is a genre/style of game I'm unfamiliar with, so Sseth's little 'giveaway' hands me an opportunity to see if I can enjoy this kind of game.

Have you missed the part where Sseth hands out pirated copies of the game he reviews? He does it all the time.

Yeah he's defiantly a chaotic good kinda character.
He's not deliberately trying to get people to pirate, but there isn't exactly a try-before-you-buy system for PC software any more.
As as customer he's great, but even still it's a little screw-y for the people trying to run a legitimate business.

If Alex completely removed DRM the sale figures would stay the same. DRM has never stopped pirates and good games always generate revenue even without DRM.

Not going to lie, I wasn't really interested in the game even after the review, but trying it out I'm buying it for myself next time I get paid.

I actually bought the game because the youtube video piqued my interest! (Then again, I used to play Aurora 4X, Freespace and X3, so there's that to consider too).

I can confirm. I bought the game within an hour of the video being posted. Sseth is the greatest African-warlord-turned-video-game-curator the world has ever known.

Apparently the streamer Robbaz (who I didn't know but has like 1.5mil subscribers) was also streaming earlier today, so there may be another wave incoming...

I've bought the game after seeing Sseth review and giving it a go. Didn't even finish the Tutorial mission after Character creation and ended up buying the full version. I really like what I have seen so far and wanted to support Developers for making such a unique game.

There is nothing controversial in his video and I don't understand why you think Developers will be affected, as it seems to have quite the opposite effect.

I might buy some streamers the game as I think its in an amazing and while not finished fully playable, very enticing state. If anyone has a streamer that gets 300+ views thats willing to try let me know and ill get them a key.

I'm one of the many many people of the Sseth wave, and I'm already in love with the game.
Think Alex and the other guys deserve the attention and the mony, the game is a beauty!

I watched the review and was mildly interested. If not for the free CD key I would not have bought the game.
Being able to have a playthrough for free got me into the game. And I bought it outright.
It's not that the game was too expensive, I just don't like paying for a game if I don't know if I will like it, and refunds are a hassle.

Here because of Sseth. Used his key, loved the game, bought it within an hour. Would love to know how I can swap his key out for mine. This game is excellent.

I'd say for anyone to give out a free key Sseth is probably the best option. His fanbase is usually very moral one and many many will pay for the game if they genuinely enjoy it. Also they give people sh*t in his discord if it comes out they actively play an indie-game and don't pay for it, much less so if its a triple A developer though.

I watched a video from the Spiffing Brit. and then this one. I paid for my key. Good games get the $$. But I see a bit more spit polish now and the game could be a real contender for one of my favorite space games.
