Title: Some suggestions about the skills of main character and the ship’s captain
Post by: archealis on June 23, 2019, 11:50:39 PM
1.   Each ship needs a captain.
2.   The captain’s skill trees are different from the main character, mainly focus on single ship performance.
3.   The skills of main character should enhance whole fleet action, industry, colony development, ect.
4.   Captains can be killed in action.
5.   If a captain command a certain type of ship for sufficient time, he or she can obtain the skill which further improves that ship type performance.

I would not want officers/captains killed.  Maybe put in sick bay for a week or two, but no more than that.  Officers are harder to replace than ships.

I'd like to see officers be mortal at least optionally.

Each ship needing a captain sounds like a good idea buuut. Officers being special and small in number reduces micromanagement while keeping in the spirit of the game. I dont want to have to manage the captain of my fuel frigate. I just... dont want to bother.

Maybe if the game was more of an RPG (think “star wolves”) but yea.
