For all you starfarers and sci-fi-lovers,
you might have heard of "the expanse", a series on SYFY, depicting our solarsystem in the near future.
Now in its 3rd season SYFY decided to not renew it for a 4th despite its praise from critics and fans.
I consider it the best sci-fi series on tv I have ever watched. But sadly due to the antiquated business model of SYFY it didn't create the profit it otherwise could.

I loved the books, hate the show where they have the "everything and everyone in space must be cool" kind of problem.

Typical Syfy channel, get a good show then cancel/ not renew it

Typical SyFy: make a good shows with minuscule niche audience and get forced to cancel. Can't say I blame them on this one despite liking it very much.

I haven't seen that show before but if Syfy is cancelling it then it must be good.

Never read the books.
I found it meh in terms of storytelling and setting and outright bad in acting.
That said, I would've liked to watch more of it if only because there's not much else hard-ish sci-fi to watch.

A damn shame it is, really. I never even was aware of the show until a youtuber I follow mentioned it a few weeks back.
I've been hooked ever since, only to see yet another heartless executive suffocate the life out of something beautiful soon after.

This. The acting/casting is just horrible. Especially the crew of the rocinante is just so painful to watch. Amos is OK, because his character is defined by his lack of empathy, but e.g Holden always has the same facial expression, no matter whether he is in mortal danger, flirting with someone, joking or beeing angry. Maybe that is the way he is described in the books, but it just feels like watching a school play.
That being said, i still watched all the episodes because i like space and there are some amazing moments that are worth enduring the acting.

well, it's a model and it went to a height of 33 km but still, freakin gorgeous!!! there are longer versions out there. take a look.
